Richard Walwema

Richard Walwema is currently Project Manager, Global Health Security Partner Engagement Project focusing on expanding efforts and strategies to protect and improve Public Health Globally specifically under the action packages of Prevention and control of AMR, Laboratory Systems development, Biosafety and Biosecurity and Disease Surveillance and Preparedness and Response.

This includes managing and design project activities (Including the preparation of budgets, implementation schedules, and evaluation criteria) and providing overall leadership, strategic direction and supervision for the project and its staff, to ensure successful implementation and achievement of results. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Total Quality Management and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology. He has over 30 years’ experience in program development, practice and development of lab systems and networks in both the public and private sector (both in and outside Uganda). His major interest is health systems operational research.
